community support

Street art of a large red heart on a blue wooden door, with smaller stickers and graffiti around it, including a peace sign, hearts, and messages such as 'COMM-UNITY SPIRIT' and 'DON'T FORGET THE LOCALS'.

I love working one on one with people, in a collaborative and empowering way. Some of the issues you might bring to counselling are not individual in nature but are connected to the systems we all live in. We are all impacted by the relationships we have, the environment we live in, our access to healthcare, community and education. We all need to be connected to something bigger than ourselves to flourish.

When creating Market Street Counselling it needed encompass more than an individual view of counselling. It needed to have heart.

Heartkids

It started with an idea to give back to organisations that help my clients. As a heart mum myself, HeartKids seemed like a natural way to start. People coming to counselling who have Heartkids can access either a 10% reduction in session fees, or request that 10% of their fees be donated to Heartkids WA.

Other community and carer organisations

If you would like your community to be supported through our work together, please let me know.

home visit counselling

For full-time carers, mothers with newborns or stay-at-home parents without access to childcare, after your initial in-office or telehealth appointment please speak to me if you are interested in having home visits for counselling to provide easier and more flexible access to services. I have some capacity for home based counselling in the following suburbs: Fremantle, White Gum Valley, East Fremantle, Mosman Park, North Fremantle, Bicton, Attadale, Palmyra, Melville, Myaree, Booragoon, Willagee, O’Connor, Kardinya, Samson, Coolbelup, Hamilton Hill, Hilton, Beaconsfield, South Fremantle.

Ethical Banking

I use Bank Australia, a B Corp-certified, customer-owned bank that funds clean energy transition, not-for-profits, affordable and accessible housing and green and sustainable investments.  It does not fund: fossil fuels, live animal export, arms industry, gambling or tobacco.

Pay the rent

I live, work and play on the lands of the Whadjuk Noongar peoples, whose sovereignty was never ceded. 1% of all revenue is paid to Traditional Owners through PayTheRent.net.au on an annual basis in January.

Reduced Fee Counselling

I want access to counselling to be affordable for everyone.  I have some places available for a reduced fee of $75 per session for individual clients who hold a Health Care Card, full-time students or young adults living independently.  Home visit counselling is not available at reduced fee rate. You can find more information here

Affordable room hire

For counsellors just starting out I hire my counselling room for $20 per hour or $60 for a half day (4 hours).
